The UAE passport has once again been ranked the world’s most powerful passport, retaining its top position in the latest Passport Index by Arton Capital. Achieving a record score of 182, the passport reflects the country’s growing global influence and strong diplomatic relations.
Emirati citizens now enjoy visa-free access to 127 countries, visa-on-arrival access to 45 destinations, and electronic travel authorisation for 10 countries, giving the passport an impressive 91% global mobility score. Only 16 destinations worldwide still require a visa before travel.
The UAE’s remarkable rise began with the launch of the UAE Passport Force Initiative in 2017, aimed at strengthening international travel access for its citizens. A key milestone came in 2015 when Emiratis gained visa-free access to Schengen countries, making the UAE the first Arab nation to receive this privilege.
Despite tightening immigration policies and stricter border controls across many countries, the UAE has maintained its leadership in global mobility. According to Arton Capital CEO Armand Arton, the country’s continued success reflects its growing relevance on the international stage.
While Singapore secured second place in the rankings, several European nations remained among the world’s strongest passports. Experts believe that as global travel regulations become more complex, passport strength will play an increasingly important role in international business, tourism, investment, and quality of life, further reinforcing the UAE’s position as a leading global destination.
